Each of our limited edition t-shirts carries a story from the Conversation Over Borders community woven into it, from people seeking sanctuary in the UK.
In 2023, Idris called for us all to remain permanent 'Prisoners of Hope', whether we be navigating the harsh asylum system or fighting to change it.
In 2024, Nima drew his vision of 'Our Home' - a place where people are welcome, regardless of their race or nationality.
This year, we are sharing Abou Bakr's message of welcome to all people newly arriving on our shores.
"May our hospitality shine so strongly, give you hope and bring your heart back to life."
Abou joined Conversation Over Borders at the age of 21, learning English with us before going on to volunteer on our Digital Inclusion team. The Welcome tee bears the original version of his poem in French, but you can also read the translation he wrote in English above.
P.S, You are welcome to submit your own message for us to send to someone newly arrived in the UK (it does not have to be as poetic as Abou's) here: https://www.conversationoverborders.org/messages-of-welcome
These tops are oversized and run very large - please check the size guide to ensure you get your perfect fit.
